Our rapidly growing company is in search of a highly motivated Plow Truck Operator to join our team.
We are a year-round organization who offer a wide variety of services including landscape maintenance, landscape construction, landscape design and renderings, and snow/ice management. Plow Truck Operator Job Description
A successful applicant will have a minimum of 1 year experience within the snow and ice management industry. The Plow Truck Operator is responsible for working alongside the Snow Removal Divisions' foreperson and other crew members in order to ensure projects are completed in an efficient, cost-effective, and quality focused manner.
The primary function of this position is to clear sites free of snow and apply an appropriate amount of salt in accordance with Smart About Salt principles to our client properties.
Plow Truck Operator Duties
A successful applicant will be required to complete the following duties with a high degree of effectiveness and efficiency in order to ensure their team has a successful season. The potential duties may include but are not limited to:
- Aid in the execution of various snow removal projects as delegated by the foreperson or management team
- Utilize a wide variety of equipment, machinery, and handheld power/manual snow removal tools
- Complete detailed records of trucks, equipment, and material utilization
- Complete a variety of labour intensive tasks in a timely and organized manner
- Adhere to health and safety standards both on and off the job site, including PPE standards
- Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubrications, small repairs, and cleaning on a daily basis
- Comply with all company regulations, policies, procedures, and expectations
Equipment and Machinery Experience
A successful applicant will have a minimum of 1 year experience with the following pieces of equipment and machinery:
- 1 tonne to 5 tonne pickup truck accompanied by an enclosed, dump, or float trailer
- Plow truck
- A variety of snow removal equipment
- Handheld power and manual tools

Education and Certifications
- Secondary school education, GED, AEC, or an equivalent accredited certificate/diploma
- A valid government issued G license with a clean driving abstract
- A clean criminal record check
- D licence would be considered an asset
- Heavy equipment operator certification would be considered an asset
- Health and safety and first aid training would be considered an asset
